Where To Source Laptop Replacement Parts

If you are reading this, chances are your laptop is broken. You have already checked out the problem and found that it is not something that can simply be corrected by adjusting something with your laptop. Probably, you have also been to or, at least gotten in touch with a repair technician and now know that the solution already entails replacement of a part or parts. But where will you get the necessary parts? Here are some tips on where to source laptop replacement parts.

1. First of all, better check if your laptop is still under warranty. Most laptops include, at least, a one-year warranty on parts when you buy them. Some even have two to three years warranty on parts. So check this out first because if your laptop is still under warranty, then you don’t need to source parts yourself. Your laptop manufacturer is duty bound to replace the parts your laptop needs.

2. But if your machine requires laptop repair but it is no longer under warranty then start by going back to where you bought the laptop. Some, if not most, of the computer hardware stores where laptops are bought also have tech support. Some can even fix your laptop or may even have the parts your laptop needs.

3. So bring your laptop to where you bought it first and find out what they can do to help. Since this is no longer covered by any warranty, they will charge you for the service. But since they are the supplier of the laptop, they should know more about how and where to get the replacement parts and how to install it in your laptop.

4. If the seller supplier can’t help, try another supplier. There may be one next to where you bought the laptop, or in a mall, but definitely you’ll find one in the internet. Other seller suppliers might have the parts you need.

5. You can also try going to repair and maintenance companies. These are companies that specialize in repairing computers. Just make sure you go to one that repairs laptops. Because their services are specialized towards repair, you get a better chance of having your laptop fixed with them. They usually have lots of spare parts in stock and in cases wherein they don’t they usually know where to find parts not on stock.

6. Now, in the worst possibility that a repair and maintenance company still can’t help you, you can try one last option, look for the parts yourself. Look for warehouse sale of computer parts. There are companies that only sell spare or used but refurbished parts. Just make sure you know what you are looking for.

Find out the brand, product numbers the official or technical name of the laptop replacement part you need. You can also search the web for the parts you need. Go to any search engine and key in the details of the parts you need. It should give you some idea as to where it can be found. But better hope it doesn’t come to that.
